Safeguarding is at the core of all we do at Ashby Willesley Primary School. Safeguarding our children is the responsibility and 'everyone's business' at our school. All staff have annual safeguarding training and receive regular updates.

If you have a concern out of hours and need help or need to report a concern, call 0116 305 0005. This will direct you to Leicestershire Children's Social Services. If a child is immediately at risk, please call the Police.
We are proud to work successfully in partnership with families and professional services to support our pupils.
Our comprehensive safeguarding and child protection policy is available in our policies tab. This is supported by our Low Level Concerns policy, Anti Bullying policy, Online Safety policy, Behaviour policy, Relationships and Sex Education policy and the Trust Designated Teacher for Looked After Children policy, as well as many other policies.
Our school is part of Operation Encompass. This is a police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people who experience Domestic Abuse. This involves reporting incidents to school that the police have attended where they feel there has been an impact upon a child’s physical, emotional or mental well-being. This information is shared so that our school can better understand children’s living experience and can support, nurture and care for them more effectively.
Prevent is a government strategy designed to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorist or extremist causes.
We will ensure our pupils learn about tolerance and respect for all cultures and religions through our PSHE, SMRC and RE work. We believe the risk of extremism within Ashby is low but we will ensure that all staff are fully aware of their duty to report any possible extremism or radicalisation concenrs they may have.
You can find out more about PREVENT here and how we support parents.
Online safety is given a high priority at Ashby Willesley to ensure that pupils and staff use the internet and technology in a safe considered and respectful way. Please see the links below for our Online Safety Policy and useful information for parents/carers.
